The SMT-50B Multi Tester is an ideal tool for technicians involved in setting up or maintaining optical fiber networks. The SMT-50B Multi Tester is designed to provide excellent performance for various parameters and challenging fiber measurement applications.

The SMT-50B offers four outstanding functions to optimize technicians' time and can be tested across six wavelengths. The six primary wavelengths used in FTTX networks (850, 1300, 1310, 1490, 1550, and 1625 nm) can be tested in passive optical networks (PON).

The SMT-50B Multi Tester is engineered to deliver the best performance for different parameters and demanding applications in fiber measurement. It is designed with a practical size that focuses on simplicity and accuracy.

Difference Between SMT-50A and SMT-50B

The SMT-50A operates with a range of -70dBm to +6dBm for 850 and 1300nm wavelengths and -60dBm to +6dBm for 1310, 1490, 1550, and 1625nm wavelengths. In contrast, the SMT-50B operates within a range of -40dBm to +26dBm for 850 and 1300nm wavelengths and -50dBm to +26dBm for 1310, 1490, 1550, and 1625nm wavelengths.

Features

OPM (Optical Power Meter)

The SMT-50B provides high accuracy across six wavelengths (850, 1300, 1310, 1490, 1550, 1625 nm). On-site, users can select SC, FC, or ST adapters (optional) for real-time testing with a universal adapter.

VFL (Visual Fault Locator)

The SMT-50B includes a VFL (Visual Fault Locator) function, allowing technicians to visually detect broken or leaking optical fiber networks. Users can choose from 1, 10, or 25mW laser power according to their needs.

UTP/RJ Line Tester

The SMT-50B can test both optical fiber networks and copper cables (RJ-45, RJ-11). This feature enables field technicians to manage fiber and copper hybrid networks.

Flashlight

The SMT-50B provides a flashlight and flashing SOS light signal for emergency field situations. The flashlight function is useful for nighttime installations and emergency maintenance in dark areas.
